Cleveland Clinic’s General OR team is a dynamic surgical environment that includes GI, Colon, Oncology, Bariatric and Endocrine procedures. Surgeries range from 2 to 12 hours, including complex cases such as colon and intestinal procedures, transplants, Whipple surgeries and oncology interventions. Working in the OR offers a focused, structured approach to patient care, strong teamwork and clearly defined roles, with limited patient contact while patients are under anesthesia. As an integral member of the surgical team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care from pre‑op to recovery, interact with patients and families to enhance their experience and provide education as needed. Aider Success Profile
Participate in a residency core curriculum based on surgery core learning needs.
Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference, and resource availability).
Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
Seek supervision, consultation, and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
Document in patients’ medical records.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye‑hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > 75 pounds periodically.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay Range – Minimum hourly: $33.50; Maximum hourly: $53.60.
The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
