Facility Location: Bloomfield Hills - 2975 N. Adams Road Bloomfield Hills, MI 48304 Schedule: Part-Time; Monday-Friday 20-25 hours, flexible scheduling General Summary: In this role you will provide speech-language pathology services to patients impaired by cognitive/communicative or swallowing dysfunction, including assessment, treatment planning and implementation of treatment plans. Complete appropriate documentation and adhere to policies, procedures, applicable licensure laws, and current standards of clinical practice. Your Responsibilities: Conduct speech-language pathology screenings and evaluations to determine patient cognitive/communicative and/or swallowing status using standardized tests and measures. Develop and implement treatment plans to reach patients’ highest potential for independence consistent with ASHA standards. Assess effects of treatment on an ongoing basis and modify the patient’s plan to achieve maximum benefit. Check, instruct, assign, and review the work of CFY as assigned and in accordance with ASHA standards. Confere with physicians and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program and integrate speech therapy with other aspects of patient’s health care. Provide documentation to maintain quality of the medical record as it relates to accuracy, continuity of care and reimbursement guidelines. Participate, as requested, in patient and family care conferences. Educate and instruct patient and family/caregivers in treatment procedures to be continued when not in therapy or as a home exercise program. Participate in Quality Assurance activities as directed by the Agency Administrator and/or site-specific Director of Therapy. Promote current standards of clinical practice through participation in internal and external continuing education, in-service programs and certifications sponsored by the agency. Participate in new program development to expand the clinical services of the rehabilitation agency. Participate in agency meetings and additional activities as directed to facilitate effective agency operations. Required Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence. Licensure as required by the State of Michigan. Skills and Abilities: Initiative and flexibility in work environment. Ability to exercise professional judgement and initiative when analyzing problems and recommending solutions. Ability to react effectively to the needs of patients and their families. Physical ability to exert force up to 20 pounds. Employee Benefits: Competitive Pay.
