Job Overview
A Patient Care Technician (PCT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Nursing Aide is responsible for supporting healthcare staff in administering personalized care to patients with various injuries, illnesses, or disabilities. The PCT/NA uses patient care best practices to provide a safe, comfortable, and healing environment for all patients, always adhering to Amberwell cultural priorities. The PCT/NA must be comfortable working with specific populations, including elderly patients and those with special needs, and be a good team player with empathy and compassion. Responsibilities
Helping patients bathe and maintain proper hygiene Assisting with toileting needs Feeding patients and providing fresh water Assessing patients’ vital signs and behavior and notifying staff of any changes Checking blood sugar levels and monitoring intake and output Preparing patient rooms with necessary items Assisting patients with mobility needs and transfers Turning and repositioning patients to prevent bedsores and other discomfort Qualifications
Education: Minimum Required Education – High School Diploma or GED Minimum Required: BLS Preferred Certifications: CNA About Amberwell Health
