Program Supervisor Responsibilities

The Bilingual Case Manager is responsible for initiating and maintaining regular (at least weekly) short-term (up to 30 days) contact/support with families. Assess family needs and link to available local community resources to prevent or address problems that may result in neglect or abuse of a child. Conduct family-centered and strength-based interventions to establish a trusting relationship. Support services geared toward family reunification, maintaining, strengthening, and safeguarding families to prevent substitute care placement and further involvement with the child welfare system, ensuring children’s safety and well-being. Perform initial assessment of family and ensure safety and well-being of involved children’s services are delivered. Enable families to resolve challenges and needs contributing to risk to children; provide weekly home visits by workers to assess safety and risk issues related to the child. Direct intervention to help reduce risk and teach strategies for avoiding risk in the future. Verify families’ linkage to community resources and document that the family has received and connected to those resources. Manage the ongoing waitlist of clients by triaging new clients from the list to active caseloads. Ensure short-term services teach parents how to improve household organization and cleanliness. Ensure clients are linked to medical services due to the child’s or parent’s physical condition, safety, and risk. Provide advocacy services to families with public systems such as DHS/TANF, public schools, and others identified through family assessment. Maintain records and statistics required by the agency, state, and other funding sources and suggest revisions or reviews. Qualifications

Bachelor’s in early childhood, social services, or related field. Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken). Two years of paid or volunteer experience working with families and children. Ability to speak the primary languages of the clients. Maturity and experience in working with children (0–5 years) and their families. Knowledge of normal child growth/development and parent-child relationships. Ability to approach families from a strength-based, family-centered service model. Availability to families after-hours on an emergency basis. Ability to establish and maintain personal/programmatic boundaries while providing supportive services. Experience working with culturally diverse communities and families, with the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate. Salary
