Position Summary A temporary/lab research position is needed to work in the soybean research lab to take agronomic notes, collect data, and harvest soybean research plots in the field. This position will work in the seed lab to weigh and clean samples, thresh individual plants, and prepare seed for spring planting.
Duties and Responsibilities
Take agronomic notes, collect data, and harvest soybean research plots in the field.
Work in the seed lab weighing and cleaning samples, threshing individual plants, and preparing seed for replanting in spring.
Greenhouse work of planting, harvesting, and cleaning.
Percentage of Time:
45% for field duties; 10% for greenhouse duties.
Classification Title Temporary Technical Paraprofessional
Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification High school diploma preferred.
Physical Demands Lifting up to 50 lbs and overtime hours during the planting and harvesting season. Working in the fields and greenhouse in extreme heat. Traveling.
Background Investigation Policy Offers of employment are contingent upon completion of a background investigation including a criminal background check, confirmation of credentials and employment history, and, if applicable, a satisfactory credit check.
