Position Summary:

A Temporary Tech. Parapro. will assist with projects and tasks in laboratory, greenhouse, field and office. Employee will be assigned various tasks throughout the year depending upon availability, skill set, and program needs. We conduct research at multiple locations. Travel to farms and facilities will be required to perform some duties. Individual needs to be detail oriented, accept instruction, and willing to work in various environments. Work well with others.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Laboratory

Greenhouse maintenance

Field Planting/Maintenance

Data collection

Seed Threshing/Cleaning

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification:

High school diploma required with some college education preferred. Experience in laboratory, greenhouse, or field work is preferred. Training will be available for laboratory use and pesticide use.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

Strong organizational skills, basic computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.), and the ability to effectively communicate and multitask. Should be meticulous, punctual, and reliable.

Physical Demands:

Work inside and outside in various conditions including hot and cold temperatures. Coexist with various insects, pollen, and temperature stress. Perform various manual duties including transplanting and weeding.
