Duties
Plan, organize, direct and act as a resource for the Emergency Management functions of St. Peter’s Health Partners system
Coordinate with Federal, state and local agencies to place SPHP in a leadership position in the event of a community emergency
Serves as the SPHP Emergency Preparedness content expert; orient and train staff; conduct drills and exercises to test the readiness of staff to disaster/emergencies
Develop and update Emergency Preparedness plans, policies and procedures
Must be familiar with HICS and NIMS and able to provide training to Hospital Incident Management Teams via a scenario based seminar
Must be familiar with and able to utilize multiple emergency communication modalities
Administers the operational aspects of the Hospital Preparedness grants including training to leadership, outreach to colleagues and fulfillment of grant deliverables
Represent St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP) at local and regional coalitions
Chair Emergency Management Committees
Design, develop, coordinate and conduct Emergency Preparedness drills and exercises for SPHP and community partners
Chair the Hospital Emergency Response Team (Decon team), take part in training and act as an advocate for the team to leadership and community partners
Provide regular training on evacuation, evacuation teams, planning and equipment
This position requires dedication, communication, people and partnership building skills
Perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager - Safety, Emergency Management and Preparedness
Education Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management or equivalent field
An Associate Degree in a related field and progressive experience in the Emergency Management paradigm (law enforcement, firefighting, Life Safety, Code Enforcement, clinical healthcare)
CEM or AEM and / or CHES certification a plus
Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state and local standards and codes (NFPA, NYS DOH)
Knowledge of regulatory requirements for multiple accrediting agencies (CMS, Joint Commission, etc.)
Comprehensive knowledge of HICS and NIMS
Must have completed IS 100, 200, 700 and 800 and be able to obtain IC 300 and 400 within one year
Experience Requirements
Five years or more of progressively responsible experience, preferably in a clinical or emergency management capacity
Direct experience with Emergency Management in a large organization
Performance Metrics
Hospital Preparedness Program grant deliverables
Provision of training to colleagues in Fire / Evacuation and other as required
Pay Range:
$64,500 - $103,188
