Teach the Health Statistics course; other Health and Exercise Science discipline courses may be taught based on the candidate’s expertise and training. Potential courses include Health Psychology, Epidemiology, Human Physiology, Anatomy, Exercise Physiology, Nutrition, or Biomechanics. Maintain a teaching load equivalent to six 3-credit courses per year. Provide academic advising and mentoring of undergraduate students; participate in departmental, college, and university service. Engage in skillful teaching and contribute to an environment of learning and growth for students and stakeholders. Participate in additional teaching opportunities at the undergraduate level as available and aligned with the candidate’s expertise. Advancement opportunities with renewal and promotion to longer-term contracts. Qualifications
Ph.D. or Ed.D. or equivalent in Statistics, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related discipline; ABD candidates are invited to apply. Experience teaching undergraduates in designated courses and a strong commitment to engaging students in and out of the classroom. Ability to advise department majors, mentor undergraduate students, and contribute to a positive academic environment. Position Summary
The Department of Health and Exercise Science at Wake Forest University invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor/Professor of the Practice position to begin July 1, 2026. The successful candidate will teach Health Statistics and may teach other related courses based on expertise. Teaching responsibilities include a six 3-credit course load annually, academic advising, mentoring, and departmental, college, and university service. The position offers professional rights and resources comparable to tenure-track faculty, such as professional development support, departmental and college travel funds, and potential course release. The appointment is eligible for renewal and promotion with progressively longer-term contracts. Application Instructions
