Summary
A specialized cardiac sonographer who independently performs echocardiograms on a professional level including but not limited to: Transesophageal (TEE) echo, Transthoracic (TTE) echo, stress echo, 3D, Doppler color Doppler and Strain imaging echocardiograms in in-patient (IP), outpatient (OP) and off-site settings. The results of these exams are used to directly impact the course of patient care. Responsibilities
Perform echocardiography studies across IP, OP and off-site settings, including TTE, TEE, stress echo, 3D imaging, Doppler color Doppler and Strain imaging. Provide high-quality echocardiogram examinations and report findings to inform patient care. Qualifications
Formal Education: Completion of a Sonography program from an accredited school of ultrasound technology OR one (1) year of full-time cardiac echocardiography experience OR completion of an approved Echo Trainee Program OR Summa Sonographer Intern requirements. Experience & Training: Registered in the field of experience (RVS, RVT, RDMS, RCS, and RDCS). Basic Life Support (BLS). Completion of an approved Echo sonography program. Specific requirements for weekend positions: three (3) years of experience with stress testing experience. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: Ability to make knowledgeable independent clinical assessments and judgments. Ability to assess and resolve scanning, technical and patient care issues with limited supervision. Ability to communicate and collaborate with physicians and other allied health care professionals. Respectful communication with patients, families, and staff, maintaining professionalism and dignity. Calibrate and operate echocardiography equipment; lift and transport patients and equipment when needed. Prioritize work independently and resolve problems; remain calm in emergencies; work effectively as part of a team. Population-Specific Competency: effectively interact with diverse patient populations with understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity. Physical Demands: Heavy category work with occasional to frequent lifting and moving of objects (as applicable to equipment and patients). Salary and Benefits
$36.83/hr - $44.20/hr. The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of bonuses or differentials. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical.
