Job Overview A Post‑Doctoral Associate position is available to work on projects with the TOU high-resolution spectrograph and the DHARMA optical telescope under Dr. Jason Dittmann in the Department of Astronomy. The position is available immediately and open until filled. The main focus is on the development and operation of a high‑resolution optical spectrograph on Mt. Lemmon in Arizona, including radial‑velocity measurements of exoplanet host stars.
Responsibilities
Operate high‑resolution spectrographs and develop associated data pipelines.
Work on the operation and development of the high‑resolution optical spectrograph on Mt. Lemmon.
Perform radial‑velocity measurements of exoplanet host stars.
Collaborate with Dr. Jason Dittmann and the Astronomy Department research group.
Requirements Minimum Requirements:
Ph.D. in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Physics, or Computer Science by appointment date.
Experience with high‑resolution spectrograph operation and data reduction.
Strong performance and conduct (eligible for a one‑year award with possible renewal).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in data reduction, radial velocities, and instrument operations.
Background in instrument development in astrophysics.
