Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) – St. Mary's Medical Center
We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate, diagnose, and treat individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in an acute hospital environment. This is a per diem position with flexible 8‑hour shifts (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) at St. Mary's Medical Center, Blue Springs, MO.

Responsibilities
Conduct communication assessments and provide evidence‑based therapy for speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in acute and medically complex settings.
Provide cognitive‑communication therapy targeting attention, memory, executive function, and problem‑solving in patients with neurological conditions.
Educate patients and caregivers on safe swallowing, communication strategies, and appropriate use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems.
Treat patients across ICU, inpatient rehabilitation, NICU, and pediatrics, addressing feeding, swallowing, congenital, and critical‑care communication needs.
Enhance quality of life and safety by supporting safe oral intake, restoring communication, and promoting cognitive‑linguistic recovery.
Qualifications
Licensed by the state in Speech‑Language Pathology.
Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Therapy.
Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintained throughout employment.
Additional Qualifications (Plus)
Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology.
At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.
