Westown Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a Certified Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients and supporting our veterinarians in delivering outstanding veterinary services. Your expertise and technical skills will be utilized in various areas, including anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, laboratory procedures, radiography, client education, and nursing care. Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians in examinations, treatments, and surgeries. Perform anesthesia induction, maintenance, and monitoring during surgical procedures. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians. Perform laboratory procedures, including blood work, urinalysis, and microscopy. Take and develop radiographs, ensuring accurate positioning and image quality. Provide nursing care to patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering fluids, and managing post-operative recovery. Educate clients on pet care, medications, and preventive healthcare. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records. Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies. Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure a clean and organized work environment. Qualifications
Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) with current licensure in Wisconsin, or surgery experience preferred. Proficient in anesthesia monitoring, surgical assistance, laboratory procedures, and radiography. Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Compassionate, caring, and dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and procedures.
