Job Description As a Clinician, you will work collaboratively with the school district and as part of an interdisciplinary team with identified students, providing clinical counseling to youth and their families in an outpatient mental health clinic licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) and embedded within the school building. You will report to the Director of the Behavioral Health Center and work onsite.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the school district to identify and treat a caseload of students with mental health needs, providing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and individual and family therapy services.
Create initial treatment plans, conduct subsequent treatment plan reviews, draft progress notes for each scheduled appointment, and maintain other required documentation and assessments.
Collaborate with the associated clinic prescriber, other medical and mental health providers, school staff, and community supports for client care.
Attend the school‑based Behavioral Health Center staff meeting once a month.
Participate in supervision on a weekly, bi‑weekly, or monthly basis, as appropriate for licensure level or individual needs.
Provide referrals and linkages to community supports, resources, and services.
Requirements and Education
Master’s degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling.
Experience in human services, case management, line staff at a residential program, or other related direct care within human services, both pre‑ and post‑master’s, will be considered.
License and/or limited permit eligible; a limited permit in discipline or full licensure (LMHC/LCSW/LCSW‑R) preferred.
Good standing with the NYS Office of the Professions.
NYS Driver’s License in good standing.
