Position Summary: Perform prophylaxis and/or periodontal scaling, examine oral areas, head, and neck for signs of oral disease. Educate patients on oral hygiene, take and develop x-rays, or apply fluoride or sealants. Provide local anesthesia as needed for hygiene procedures or restorative treatment under the Dentist's direction.

Clean calcareous deposits, accretions, and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins using dental instruments and ultrasonic technology.
Utilize laser therapy in conjunction with Gingivitis and/or periodontal treatment.
Record and review patient medical histories.
Examine gums for periodontal pockets and signs of gum disease using probes.
Visual and tactile examination of gums for sores and signs of disease.
Expose periapical, bitewing, and panoramic x-rays.
Chart conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by the dentist.
Maintain dental equipment, sharpen, and sterilize dental instruments.
Feel lymph nodes under the chin to detect swelling or tenderness indicating oral cancer.
Provide clinical services or health education to improve and maintain oral health.
Apply fluorides or other cavity-preventing agents.
Maintain patient recall system.
Administer local anesthetic agents.
Remove excess cement from teeth.
Conduct dental health clinics for community groups.
Remove sutures and dressings.
Place and remove rubber dams, matrices, and temporary restorations.
Make impressions for whitening trays.
Assist with local anesthesia if authorized, and aid in sterilization and setup of operatories.
Comply with company policies, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
Be available for relocation to other Dental Depot clinics as needed.
Complete other administrative and maintenance tasks as assigned.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Skills & Abilities: High school diploma or GED required. An Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Hygiene is required. Current CPR certification, valid Dental Hygiene License, and ability to administer nitrous oxide/local anesthesia if authorized are necessary. Knowledge of dental software (Eaglesoft preferred) and Microsoft Office is required. Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and compliance with vaccination policies are also required.
