Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED, plus one year of direct patient care experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Medical Assistant or Orthopedic Technician experience
BLS required; must obtain certification within 90 days of hire and maintain it
Responsibilities
Provides professional assistance to physicians with the application and management of casts for orthopedic patients.
Educates patients regarding casts, splints, or braces after application.
Collects and records patients' medical history and vital signs, advising patients on treatment, medication, and physician instructions.
Collects lab samples and submits documentation to the lab.
Monitors inventory and obtains necessary supplies and equipment for orthopedic patient care.
Performs other duties as assigned.
