Are you a Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about working with a diverse student community? The unit prefers a full-time, 40-hour workweek, but a 32-hour per week schedule would be considered. There is also an option to include a 4- or 8-week summer work break if desired. During summer breaks, the Nurse Practitioner remains an employee and retains health benefits but is not at work. Under the general direction of the Associate Medical Director and/or Medical Director, the Nurse Practitioner provides primary ambulatory care and telehealth services as part of the Student Health Services healthcare team. The incumbent assesses health status, evaluates and manages illnesses or injuries, provides initial psychological evaluation, promotes wellness, disease prevention, and health education, and coordinates appropriate follow-up care, referrals, and case management. The incumbent serves 16-20 patients per day, attends to psychosocial and developmental needs of university students, and may serve on health center committees. The Nurse Practitioner provides input for continuous improvement of services and upholds patient-centered care. Appointment Information

90% - Medical Care Provides direct patient care, including in-person and telehealth visits, in the Student Health Center clinic. Clinical assessment and management of routine health problems, episodic acute illnesses and stable chronic illnesses, minor injuries, routine gynecological care, and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. Evaluates and manages depression and anxiety in collaboration with counseling and psychiatric services on campus and in the community. Orders, interprets, and communicates indicated screening and diagnostic exams. Recognizes and evaluates life-threatening situations, and initiates emergency treatment. Educates and counsels patients about physical and mental health, including social habits, family planning, growth and development, and disease management. Provides support around issues commonly faced by college students, such as sexual health, drugs and alcohol, and stress. Makes appropriate referrals. Performs minor procedures (e.g., laceration repair, incision and drainage, splint/cast application, minor burns). Initiates and manages care for patients requiring IV hydration or medications. Promotes continuity of care as primary care provider for patients with chronic health issues. Completes documentation and billing/coding in a timely manner. Participates in peer review, committee work, and special projects as requested. Assists where needed to promote smooth functioning of services, which may include occasional nights or weekends. 10% - Collaboration Works closely with other clinical staff to provide care efficiently. Participates in Quality Management and other committees to monitor and improve clinical care. Contributes to special projects and outreach efforts. Required Qualifications

Current State of California RN license in good standing Current State of California NP license in good standing NP Furnishing Number (NPF) Current DEA Registration Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner MSN Degree (accredited NP program) Significant experience in general medicine, urgent care, or family practice (typically 3-5+ years post-training) Experience in medical management of depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and gender-affirming care Oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate clearly with patients, colleagues, staff Demonstrated competency in multidisciplinary team work; cultural competency with diverse student population Ability to prioritize high-volume workload and work independently under time pressure Ability to work on multiple tasks with interruptions; maintain concentration in fast-paced environment Positive and cooperative communication with management, supervisory staff, medical staff, co-workers, and other healthcare personnel Preferred Qualifications
