Certified Medical Assistant

to support our Wyandanch location in Long Island, NY. Position Overview

A Medical Assistant supports patients and the clinical team at the designated health center, assisting with medical care as directed by nursing and medical staff, in accordance with the Center's policies and objectives. The role involves performing duties in compliance with organizational standards and any additional assigned tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Complete the rooming process, take vital signs, vision, and hearing tests, and record patient data in eCW, including laboratory results, pain levels, PEAS, PhQ, smoking status, etc. Document the reason for the visit. Perform in-house labs, collect specimens for external labs (e.g., Pap smears, cultures), and conduct quality control according to organizational protocols. Maintain clinical area stock and cleanliness, ensure all materials are current, and dispose of outdated supplies. Clean and sterilize equipment, logging each service performed. Perform basic clerical duties in the service area, answer phones appropriately, communicate concerns to nurses, and handle inquiries. Maintain all relevant logs accurately. Qualifications

Minimum Education:

High School diploma/GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate Preferred Education:

Associate's degree with Medical Assistant Training Certificate Minimum Experience:

0-1 year Preferred Skills:
