Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Assignment (Midland, TX)

Location: Midland, TX 79701
Unit: Labor & Delivery
Contract Duration: 16 weeks (Start: 11/10/2025 – End: 3/2/2026)
Shift: Day shifts, 3x12-hour (07:00 – 19:00)
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,100 – $2,250
Patient Ratio: 2:1
Orientation: 36 hours
Flu Vaccine: Required (Medical/Religious exemption allowed)
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a U.S. hospital
Active RN license in Texas or a compact state (pending license accepted, must be active before start)
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, NIHSS
Previous charge nurse experience required
Preferred: Cerner electronic charting, AWHONN Advanced/Intermediate, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM)
Willingness to work at least one holiday (evening and day)
On-site drug screening required prior to start
Responsibilities
Rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition areas (no postpartum)
Assist with high‑risk deliveries, sterile speculum exams, and vaginal deliveries
Provide breastfeeding and lactation support to new mothers
Circulate for C‑sections and recover C‑section patients
Administer blood products, antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, and Pitocin
Perform APGAR scoring, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and newborn identification
Monitor fetal heart rates using EFM and IUPC
Float to antepartum as needed to support clinical staff
Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to patient safety protocols
