Overview
24 Hours Weekly, PT, Nightshift (7pm-7 am) Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions as an essential on-shift team member, working under the delegation of a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver direct, patient-centered care that meets the needs of patients, families, and coworkers. The LPN performs focused nursing assessments, contributing to the RN's comprehensive care planning through appraisal of a patient's current status and needs. Maintains effective communication with physicians and the healthcare team, participates in hourly rounding, utilizes electronic medical records efficiently, and ensures patient safety within the LPN scope of practice. Collaborates with the interprofessional team by updating patient records, communicating care needs, and escalating concerns when appropriate. Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives, including daily huddles and efforts to reduce hospital-acquired infections and falls. Implements physician orders within scope and ensures timely review and execution, seeking RN support for first-dose IV medications. Medication administration includes oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, gastric tube, and urinary routes, with all documentation completed per policy. Active state LPN License BCLS required in 90 days ACLS required after 6 months NIHSS Certification is preferred 12 Lead EKG - training available Phlebotomy Disclaimer
