As a Dental Assistant, you'll assist dentists and hygienists in chairside procedures routinely done in a general dental practice. You will be responsible for preparation and setting up of instruments, materials, and equipment, as well as ordering and maintaining supplies and inventory. Key Responsibilities

Chairside Assistance:

Assist dentists and hygienists in chairside procedures, ensuring smooth and efficient patient care.

Preparation and Setup:

Prepare and set up instruments, materials, and equipment, ensuring readiness for dental procedures.

Supply Management:

Order and maintain supplies and inventory, ensuring availability of necessary materials for patient care.

Patient Record Keeping:

Accurately record information on patient records, maintaining comprehensive and organized documentation.

Patient Care:

Attend to the needs of patients with patience, care, compassion, and understanding, fostering a comfortable and supportive environment.

Sterilization and Maintenance:

Sterilize instruments and clean and maintain equipment and work areas, upholding strict standards of cleanliness and infection control.

Problem Identification:

Help identify related medical and/or social problems and order supplies and materials, contributing to comprehensive patient care.

Inventory Documentation:

Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of inventory, ensuring accountability and efficiency in supply management.

Compliance with Standards:

Perform tasks outlined by the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Board, and the National Network of Oral Health Access, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Adaptability:

Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and readiness to support the dental team as needed.

Education and Experience Qualifications

Graduation from high school preferred, but not required.

Maintain current CPR certification.

Previous experience desired, but not required.

Employment Requirements

Must provide evidence that incumbent is free of infectious and contagious disease, such as TB, prior to beginning employment and annually thereafter – expected for all direct care staff, but mandatory for RCF staff.

Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.

Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.

All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.

Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.

Required License/Certification None

Physical Requirements ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
