Job Description Summary
$2,000 Sign on Bonus - COT/COA External Applicants Only We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ophthalmic Technician to manage and oversee the daily operations in one of our clinics. The Ophthalmic Technician Lead will be responsible for supervising a team of ophthalmic technicians, ensuring the highest standard of patient care, and assisting in various diagnostic and clinical procedures. This role requires a blend of leadership skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of ophthalmology. Responsibilities
COA/ COT lead position: accordance with clinic needs and supervision of ophthalmic technicians. Perform advanced medical history, check patient’s visual acuity, dilate eyes, and assist with office surgical procedures. Perform basic slit-lamp examination, visual fields, color vision tests, lensometry, tonometry, keratometry, and refractometry with clinic equipment. Maintain complete and accurate information in the patient’s medical record. Prepare and maintain exam rooms, ensure supplies are stocked, and equipment/instruments are in proper working order. Screen patient phone calls and assist with answering patient questions. Perform other related duties incidental to the work as needed. Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of specialized ophthalmic experience preferred. JCAHPO certification as a COA or COT required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers required. Education and Licensure
Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Certification as a COT through JCAHPO required and must be maintained throughout employment. Employment Details
