Licensed Veterinary Technician

Salary:
$21.00 - $25.00 per hour, determined by the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
Schedule:
Need flexibility Monday-Saturday, weekdays 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, rotating Saturday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Communication:
Provide status updates for hospitalized patients, home care instructions, pre- and post-op instructions, and medication guidance. Address client questions confidently and refer complex inquiries to veterinarians.
Client Education & Support:
Educate clients on preventative medicine, wellness care by age, vaccine requirements, laboratory procedures, and assist with hospital financial policies by preparing estimates and discussing costs.
Customer Service:
Greet clients, escort pets into exam rooms, ensure smooth transitions to the front desk, and promote the practice’s products, programs, and services.
Animal Handling & Care:
Safely and compassionately restrain animals, assist in medical, surgical, and dental procedures, prepare patients for surgery, administer anesthesia, monitor during surgery and recovery, and administer fluids.
Facility & Equipment Maintenance:
Properly care for surgical materials, maintain hospital equipment and inventory, and ensure all areas are clean and ready.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate patient records using a paperless system, documenting procedures, vaccinations, and notes for billing.
Pharmacy Assistance:
Assist with dispensing medications, prepare prescription labels, and package medications appropriately.
Safety & Technical Skills:
Follow safety guidelines (DEA, OSHA), administer SQ, IM, IV injections, perform laboratory tests, radiographs, ECGs, place IV catheters, and perform emergency treatments.
Qualifications:
Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician in Florida.
Experience in anesthesia and dentistry; proficiency required.
Minimum of 2 years veterinary technician experience.
Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
Knowledge of common disease states and ability to alert veterinarians to changes.
Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and safety guidelines.

We are seeking experienced veterinary technicians who love anesthesia and dentistry. Dr. Joi will support your growth and help expand your dental skills. Our team is excellent, and we are rapidly growing. No holidays or Sunday hours. We have ultrasound, digital X-ray, digital dental X-ray, in-house lab, and class 4 therapeutic laser.
