Dental Health Aide Therapist

Salary:
$41.71 - $56.36 per hour DOE

Responsibilities The Dental Health Aide Therapist delivers comprehensive oral hygiene and preventive dental services to the tribal community under the Colville Tribes’ 638-operated dental program. The role includes clinical patient care, oral health education, and participation in community-based preventive initiatives. The incumbent works under the supervision of the Dental Director (or designee) and may occasionally travel to outreach site.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Training:
Requires Associate of Applied Science in Dental therapy.
Requires applicant to be licensed as a Dental Health Aide Therapist.
Experience in tribal, community, or public health preferred.
Must be licensed by a federal community health aide program certification board or a federal recognized Indian tribe that has adopted certification standards that meet or exceed the requirements of a federal community health aide program certification board.
Requires license re-certification every two years.
Requires a valid Washington State driver’s license.
Must possess a current BLS – Basic Life Support certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires sufficient knowledge of proper English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation to prepare professional correspondence and write and edit report text.
Requires sufficient human relations skill to work productively and cooperatively with other work teams, exercise patience when dealing with internal and external customers, convey technical concepts, and review performance.
Requires knowledge of how to prepare reports, filing and record keeping.
Requires ability to maintain a work ethic of the highest standard.
Requires ability to coordinate daily tasks with appropriate follow-through and preparedness.
Requires strong computer skills and experience with healthcare databases and applications.
Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to keep detailed records.
Requires excellent management skills, team oriented, coordinates and collaborates with all business partners, staff, and customer service.
Requires physical ability such as sitting, weightlifting up to 25 pounds, bending/stooping, crouching, twisting, reaching, operation of equipment tools, foot controls, etc.
Requires sufficient hand-eye-arm coordination utilized to operate a variety of dental and general office equipment.
Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers.
Requires auditory ability to carry on conversations over the phone and in person.

Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
