Job Summary Assess clients/patients/residents and design occupational therapy treatments to help develop, maintain, and recover their ability to perform daily tasks. Conduct evaluations, provide interventions for various impairments, and document findings. Develop realistic therapy goals, establish therapeutic plans, and modify them as needed. Educate clients/patients/residents to enhance understanding and improve outcomes, utilizing age-appropriate treatments and current research.
Work may involve treating individuals of all ages with various diagnoses and disorders. Participate in departmental activities, interact with external providers, and supervise aides and students when required. Provide ongoing education and training to peers as directed by leadership. Work may focus on post-acute, long-term care, or home health environments depending on the facility.
Qualifications
Appropriate educational credentials per state licensure requirements.
Licensed in the state(s) of practice as an Occupational Therapist.
Preferred: Certification through the NBCOT and valid driver’s license if applicable.
Required: BLS certification within the first 60 days of employment.
For new graduates in South Dakota and Iowa: Temporary licenses may be considered during testing.
