WATERFRONT DIRECTORS

We’re seeking fun, enthusiastic, mature individuals who have experience managing a waterfront program for children. This position requires high moral character, strong leadership & management skills, good teaching ability, an outgoing personality, and the ability to be organized & work hard. Also seeking lifeguards, swimming instructors, swim team coaches, and watercraft instructors to lead multiple water sports activities at our 2 pools and private lake. Waterfront Staff is comprised of Pool Directors, Lakefront Director, 8‑10 swim instructors, 8‑10 lifeguards, and 8‑10 watercraft instructors. Staff hold American Red Cross (or equivalent) current certification in their area of expertise (WSI, lifeguarding, sailing, etc), and have documented experience teaching the aquatic skills in their specialty area to children of all ages. WATER SPORTS ACTIVITIES

American Red Cross swim instruction, recreational swimming, competitive swimming, water ballet, water polo, water volleyball, water basketball, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, row boating, pedal boats, paddle boards, windsurfing, fishing, tubing, intercamp swim meets, scuba diving clinics, polar bear club, and canoe/rafting trips. Junior Campus swimming pool with slide; Teen Campus swimming pool with slide; private natural stream‑fed lake (13 acres) including large beach, 200ft dock area, fishing dock, floating raft with slide, and boat house; 25ft lake trampoline, 14ft floating iceberg, and rolling log. WATERFRONT DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure top‑quality instruction at all skill levels. Hold certification in their area of expertise (WSI, lifeguarding, etc). Campers enjoy themselves and experience success. Manage & supervise all instructors & lifeguards. Maintain high‑level safety standards. Hold certifications in first‑aid and CPR. Care for and maintain the camp’s activity equipment. Keep the program area clean, neat, and organized. Genuinely enjoy living & working with kids. Possess a good sense of humor, and the ability to laugh! Conduct training sessions with instructors. Evaluate and qualify each waterfront staff member at camp prior to the camper’s arrival. Enforce the principles & policies, as well as the objectives & philosophy of Camp Cayuga. TO APPLY
