Wake Forest University Department of Health and Exercise Science invites applications for a full‑time, non‑tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor/Professor of Practice position effective July 1, 2026.
Position Summary The successful candidate will teach a variety of Health and Exercise Science courses, including human physiology, exercise physiology, and assessment techniques, along with the laboratories that accompany these classes. The candidate is expected to:
Teach a load equivalent to six 3‑credit courses each year.
Serve the department through academic advising and mentoring of undergraduate students.
Participate in departmental, college, and university service.
Additional teaching opportunities may be available. The position is eligible for renewal and promotion with progressively longer‑term contracts. Faculty are eligible for professional development support, travel funds, and course release. Qualifications Applicants should possess a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related discipline; ABD candidates are invited to apply. The candidate must have prior experience teaching undergraduates, a strong commitment to engaging students both in‑ and out‑of‑class, and the ability to advise, mentor, and contribute to a learning environment that fosters growth for all stakeholders.
