Job Details The Respiratory Therapist I performs medically prescribed general and intermediate respiratory care as a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team under the guidance and direction of the Manager, Pediatric Respiratory Care, with oversight by the Respiratory Care Supervisor and in consultation with their assigned RT III. The RT I will provide respiratory care commensurate with their "Verification of Education" competencies filed with the state board.

Medicated aerosols by all methods
Airway clearance techniques
Suctioning
Non-invasive ventilation
Bedside pulmonary function testing
Capillary blood gas sampling
Educational Duties
Breathing techniques
Home care instruction
Asthma education
Smoking counseling
Emergency Intervention
Basic airway intervention
Bag and mask ventilation
CPR
Emergency department medicated aerosol administration
Additional Duties
Equipment cleaning
Supply stocking
Assisting other RT III’s as needed
Professional duties will not include advancing or changing therapy frequency in patients on protocol-based care; this must be adjusted by the assigned RT III.
Certifications Limited permit (required)
Required High School Diploma/GED; Enrolled in COARC accredited program; Limited permit; Communication skills; Computer skills
