Pride Health is hiring a Medical Lab Scientist to support our client’s medical facility in Wichita, KS 67214. This is a 3-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity. Base pay range: $30.00/hr - $39.00/hr Job Details

Job Title: Medical Lab Scientist Schedule: 1st shift. Mon – Fri. 6:00 am – 2:30 pm Duration: 3 Months+ The salary is determined by an individual’s level of experience and any relevant licenses or certifications they may hold. Responsibilities

Determine specimen acceptability for testing based on established criteria. Perform routine and complex laboratory tests following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation to maintain proper functionality. Make technical decisions regarding test procedures and problem-solving. Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents and quality control materials. Accurately report timely test results to support quality patient care; Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as needed. Assist in specimen processing when required. Maintain a safe work environment by following safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent (meeting local regulatory requirements such as CLIA & State). Minimum 2–4 years of clinical laboratory testing experience. State Medical Technologist license (if required by the role). ASCP or AMT certification preferred or required depending on job specifications. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Proficiency with computers; familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) is advantageous. Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to pass a standardized color vision screening. Flexibility to work overtime or varied shifts based on business needs. Educational prerequisite: Minimum 12 credit hours in Biology and 12 credit hours in Chemistry for candidates with MLT, MT, or Bachelor of Science degrees. Laboratory Experience

Proficient in reading and interpreting culture plates across diverse specimen types and culture media. Hands-on experience with multiple diagnostic instruments, including operation of Soft Lab System for specimen processing and workflow management. Extensive experience performing and interpreting PCR testing for pathogen identification and resistance markers. Strong understanding of microbiological culture techniques, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and molecular diagnostics. Benefits
