Job Summary and Responsibilities
Assess and evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapy based on patient’s age, cognitive and physical abilities, and/or developmental needs. Make recommendations for changes in specific modes of therapy. Educate patients and arrange home respiratory care services and patient therapy follow-up assessments using language and materials appropriate for age, cognitive and physical abilities, and/or developmental needs. Assume responsibility for personal and professional growth through participation in department meetings, in-service programs and continuing education programs. Maintain established department policies, procedures and objectives concerning quality assurance, safety, environmental conditions and infection control. Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience Associate or Bachelor Degree in Respiratory Therapy Required Licensure And Certifications Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the NBRC. Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the state of ND (RESP-LIC:ND). Americal Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) ACLS Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Training
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; ability to work independently. Capable of meeting the physical and emotional demands of the position. Ability to perform cardiopulmonary diagnostics and therapy as prescribed by physician. Proficient with computers and computer applications used in the healthcare setting. As a Respiratory Therapist at CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, you’ll join an established team of RTs who deliver specialized cardiopulmonary care including breathing techniques, ventilator management, nebulizer treatment, oxygen therapies, external ventilation support and some pulmonary function assessments.
