Overview

We are actively seeking strong Behavioral Health Associates to join our nursing team. Acadia Healthcare-River Place Behavioral Health, a service of Ochsner Health System, provides state-of-the-art psychiatric care for adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other mental health concerns. Located in LaPlace, Louisiana, near New Orleans and Baton Rouge, the facility offers a serene environment conducive to healing. Responsibilities

Demonstrate a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety and provide excellent customer services. Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive and structured environment. Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision at 15-minute intervals, or per individualized supervision guidelines as needed. Document timely, accurate and appropriate clinical information in the patient’s medical record. Assist in providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients, significant others and staff. Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors and communicate significant observations to nursing staff. May oversee or assist with activities of daily living, including toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, meals, hydration and changing bed linens. May obtain patient vital signs, height and weight as assigned and document in the patient record. Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups covering topics such as social skills, coping skills, anger management and independent living skills. Engage patients in activities and interactions designed to encourage achievement of treatment goals. Complete and maintain required documentation; assist with follow-up and paperwork on incidents and events as required in the facility. May provide transportation for patients or coordinate transportation with appropriate staff. Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers; acknowledge and resolve complaints; recognize patient safety as a top priority. Qualifications

Education/Experience/Skills High school diploma or equivalent required. Six months or more experience working with the facility’s population preferred. Licenses/Certifications CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by the facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements. Employment details
