Dispensing Optician role at Unifeye Vision Partners, Oceanside - San Diego, CA. Unifeye Vision Partners is hiring for a Dispensing Optician. The role focuses on selling eyeglasses and contacts according to written optical prescriptions, recommending lens materials and designs based on patient needs and preferences, and advising patients on frame design, fit and performance. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Must have knowledge of optical terminology, eyewear measurements, adjustments, and vision insurance pricing and knowledge. Understand eye disease and how it can affect vision. Use optical tools including the lensometer and follow optical quality checklists for new eyewear arrivals. Teach contact lens wearers how to insert, remove, and care for contacts. Possess broad knowledge applicable to modern optometric care and current trends in eyewear. Provide excellent customer service. Properly fit frames and take necessary measurements to complete orders. Advise patients on beneficial lens options. Interpret, analyze, and fill ophthalmic and optometric prescriptions. Educate patients regarding their vision prescription and available options. Maintain emphasis on profitable operations while satisfying patient needs. Complete KPI reports as assigned. Maintain standards of quality, honesty, and patient service. Work with other departments to ensure comprehensive completion of operational tasks. Order all products to stock the dispensary within budget; obtain approval on inventory purchases from the clinic manager. Complete all patient orders, including frames, lenses, and contact lenses. Responsible for returns of defective or unused products. Provide repairs and adjustments for all frames. Review jobs for accuracy and check-in lab work. Contact patient when orders are ready for pickup. Complete nightly deposits. Education And/Or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. Two to five years’ experience as a dispensing optician required. ABOC preferred. NCLE preferred. Supervisory Responsibility
