Overview
PRN RN - Digestive Disease Post-Op at Cleveland Clinic. This PRN role is within the H50 Colorectal Surgery Unit of the Digestive Disease Institute, where surgeons perform a high volume of procedures and caregivers work as a team to provide compassionate care. A caregiver in this position works rotating days/nights from 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM. This is a PRN role and a PRN is required to work 48 hours in a 6 week period. Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care. Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans. Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions. Administer prescribed medications and treatments. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. Educate patients and their families. Minimum qualifications
Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA). External applicants must have two years of recent related nursing experience. Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience but post-orientation / 90-day probationary period could be considered with Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval. Preferred qualifications
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN). Physical requirements
Full range of body motion for handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Standing and walking for extended periods of time. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids. Medium work, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements in excess of those for Light Work. Personal protective equipment
