Athletic Trainer
6 Points Sports Academy – A URJ Summer Camp, Asheville, NC.
Responsibilities
Plan for and supervise health and safety of the camp community.
Provide local expertise in medical matters or refer to the camp physician or visiting physician.
Follow standing orders of the camp physician or visiting physician.
Keep and maintain all health records and maintain a permanent log of evaluations in CampMinder immediately after treatments.
With the Camp Administrator, supervise financial matters relating to the health center, including insurance claims and billings to parents.
Contact parents when necessary regarding the health of their children, and communicate medical decisions to coaches, counselors, and unit heads.
Schedule and supervise taping, ice, and other injury‑management protocols to maximize participation.
Conduct regular inspections of camp grounds and facilities for potential health or safety problems with the Camp Director or Athletic Director/Coaches.
Be on call at specific times of the day.
Qualifications
Must be a certified Athletic Trainer.
Summer 2026 Dates
Session 1: June 14 – June 28.
Session 2: June 28 – July 12.
Session 3: July 12 – July 26.
Based on interest and availability, you can elect to work 1, 2, or all 3 sessions.
Travel
Travel is reimbursed up to $375 for flights or gas to get to and from camp.
Room and Board
Dormitory housing is provided as well as all three meals in the campus dining hall.
About 6 Points Sports Academy 6 Points Sports Academy is located in beautiful Asheville, NC on the state‑of‑the‑art athletic and camp facilities of Asheville School, widely regarded as the most beautiful boarding overnight camp facilities in the Southern United States. The camp opened in 2010 with 60 campers and welcomed 850 campers in summer 2025. Athletes from 37 different states and 8 countries participate in a unique camping experience that offers top‑level sports coaching and all the beloved traditions of overnight camping. Campers form lifelong friendships while feeding their passion for their chosen sport and achieving a higher quality of life as young Jewish athletes. Campers are in grades 4‑11 and are looking to improve their skill level, meet new friends, and explore their own Jewish identity. (Coaches do not need to be Jewish to work at camp.) Each day of the two‑week session includes 4 hours of intensive skill development in one chosen sport and 2 hours of electives.
Salary Salaries start at $2,500 a session.
