About This Position

Provides advanced life support care to the sick and injured and safely transports customers of all ages to a medical facility. In addition, the paramedic assists with other services and events as directed by North Memorial Ambulance Service. Requirements

Education

Successfully completed paramedic training program from an accredited institution required. Associate of Science degree preferred. Experience

Previous ambulance experience preferred. Previous advanced life support experience preferred. For Air Care Paramedics, three (3) years of ALS experience as a Paramedic required. For Air Care Paramedics, prior flight experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Demonstrated ability to organize, problem solve, make decisions during emergency situations and work independently. Possess or quickly acquire knowledge of the street and highway system within the service area. Licensure/Certification

Ground Paramedic Requirements

Current Minnesota or Wisconsin Paramedic Certification or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date. State Requirement

American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Certification or Amercian Red Cross ALS and BLS Certification upon hire or within 14 days. NMHC Standard

Valid State Class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record. State Requirement

American Heart Association or American Red Cross PALS Certification. NMHC Preferred

ICS-100, ICS-200 and ICS-700 or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date. Air Care Paramedic Requirements

Current Minnesota Paramedic Certification or obtain within 60 days of hire date. Current Wisconsin Paramedic Certification or obtain within 6 months of hire date. National Registered Paramedic. American Heart Association ACLS and BLS Certification or American Red Cross ALS and BLS Certification upon hire or within 14 days. Flight Paramedic Certification (FP-C) within 12 months from date of hire. American Heart Association and American Red Cross PALS Certification upon hire or within 14 days. ICS-100, ICS-200 and ICS-700 or be able to obtain within 60 days of hire date. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or obtain within 6 months of hire date. Maximum weight of 215 pounds in uniform. Valid State Class D driver's license in the state of residency with an acceptable driving record.
