The Patient Services Specialist 1 provides administrative support in a physician office or clinic, ensuring high quality, patient-centered care. Duties include patient relations, check-in/check-out, scheduling, insurance verification and answering phones.
Essential Functions
Assist patient registration duties: collect and verify insurance information, verify demographics, enter changes into computer system.
Direct patients to appropriate waiting areas.
Accept payments and post charges according to established guidelines.
Generate daily payment reports and verify cash drawer.
Provide accurate patient, medical, financial or procedural information.
Discuss financial arrangements with patients when required.
Receive and direct phone calls, assist patients and visitors.
Respond to routine inquiries concerning practice services.
Handle patient complaints appropriately.
Assist with medical records duties as requested.
