To assist in the provision of an appropriate and quality education for all students Essential Functions

Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the classroom teacher or appropriate content specialist, or assist in drill or practice activities Perform non-instructional, non-evaluative functions Assist in the preparation of instructional materials Provide classroom management functions Introduce new learning preplanned in collaboration with the classroom teacher or appropriate content specialist Develop and maintain trust and rapport with students Provide direct instructional support to students in the regular and special education setting Maintain professional boundaries with highly vulnerable students, both in school and in the community Accept direction of lead teacher and work collaboratively with team members Demonstrate positive communication with students, staff and parents Respectfully advocate for disabled children in the public-school setting Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information regarding students and their families Maintain a high level of professionalism in following and supporting school district policies, school rules and team standards in all areas Inform classroom teacher of any problems or special information about individual students Participate in in-service training programs, as assigned Carry out assigned duties relating to the supervision of students, such as lunch, playground, study hall, cafeteria, bus loading activities, class trips, and to and from classes and/or other related services programs Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by classroom teacher and building administrator Required Supervision

Meet with the classroom/program teacher or appropriate content specialist and receive direction on a regular basis, whenever possible on a daily basis; Perform short-term instruction in small groups under the direct supervision of the teacher or appropriate content specialist in the classroom; or Conduct one-on-one or small group instruction with indirect supervision Seniority level
