Overview
Clinical Sales Specialist, Structural Heart, TAVI (New York / New Jersey) at Abbott. The opportunity focuses on TAVI clinical trial and commercial case support, trial enrollment & education initiatives for accounts within a defined region. The CSS will educate interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and hybrid OR/cath lab personnel on the safe and effective use of Abbott TAVI products and collaborate with the Territory Manager to advance clinical outcomes and market share. Responsibilities
Complete internal training plan covering hemodynamics, ECG, angiography, echo & CT imaging modalities; perform case support and proctor delegate authorizations. Provide active clinical trial & commercial case support, demonstrating excellence in procedural success rates and patient outcomes. Scrub in sterile and provide TAVI valve loading in procedures; deliver training instruction to trial and commercial customers. Provide CT valve sizing analysis using the Pie Medical 3Mensio CT program. Engage trial sites and participate in subject selection committee calls. Lead didactic education sessions for account activation before first implants. Lead pre-case planning and debriefing with the heart team; provide ongoing education as requested. Manage trial and commercial inventory and field trunk stock; ensure proper documentation for quality assurance. Co-develop regional commercial business plans with the Territory Manager; support internal/external quarterly business reviews. Enter data into Salesforce and Mentor for case support management; learn commercial data analytics and tools for a positive customer experience. Support customer engagement strategy with the Territory Manager; demonstrate competency with marketing messaging, clinical evidence and medical education portfolio offerings. Complete sales enablement training and demonstrate knowledge of the TAVI market, industry & competitive insights. Participate in team meetings, conventions, and national sales meetings as requested; complete vendor credentialing for hospital access as required. Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) or Arts (BA) or equivalent clinical degree (e.g., RCIS, Certified Cardiology Technician, RN/NP, Scrub tech, PA). 9+ years clinical work experience in hospital or medical device industry; 5+ years in Structural Heart or related fields or experience with 300+ TAVI cases. Ability to satisfy vendor credentialing requirements (including potential COVID-19 vaccination).
