Operate radiographic equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the ER Physician by the Radiologist accepted protocol. Position patients and examination tables to obtain optimum views of the specified body area. Practice radiation safety techniques with the ALARA principle, using beam restrictive devices and patient shielding skills to maximize protection for patients and staff. Operate CT SCAN equipment to produce CT scans of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the ER Physician in accordance with Radiologist protocol. Administer and obtain consent for contrast (IV and oral), and monitor for possible reactions and side effects. Complete appropriate paperwork and ensure proper documentation in patients’ charts. Maintain patient safety and obtain diagnostically acceptable exam quality. Maintain current knowledge of Diagnostic Radiology/CT procedures and equipment functioning; assist with minor repairs or troubleshooting as needed. Adhere to safety precautions to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self. Utilize appropriate body mechanics when moving or lifting patients and equipment. Communicate problems or concerns to appropriate personnel and coordinate safe patient transportation as needed. Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology At least 1 year of radiologic/imaging experience and CT experience Certifications
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Current State licensure Current BCLS Certification Supervisory Responsibilities: None Job Details
