Dos Rios Elementary School Job Description Union Elementary School District - AZ Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant Purpose The job of Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant is to provide support to the educational process with responsibilities for providing services and interventions to students with communication disabilities under the supervision of a Speech and Language Pathologist. This position reports to an Assigned Administrator. Essential Functions Adapts educational materials and equipment to meet individual student needs in accordance with IEPs. Attends meetings and communicates with staff, parents, and others regarding student goals and educational support plans. Collaborates with various groups and individuals to ensure services are provided in compliance with guidelines. Instructs students in the use of communication technologies under supervision. Maintains records and files related to speech and language services. Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars for training and information gathering. Prepares reports, correspondence, and documentation as directed. Provides speech and language therapy to students under supervision to minimize the impact of disorders. Researches resources and methods for effective intervention. Responds to inquiries from parents, teachers, and staff. Transports supplies and equipment as needed, including visits to different sites. Works at multiple sites, including home visits, to provide therapy and assistance. Other Functions Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure effective functioning of the work unit. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Apply assessment instruments and operate specialized equipment. Operate standard office equipment and computer software. Maintain accurate records. Understand principles of speech and language therapy, policies, regulations, and laws. Schedule activities, gather data, and use job-related equipment. Work flexibly with diverse individuals and groups, maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines. Responsibility

Work under limited supervision, guide others, and operate within a budget. Opportunities exist to impact services significantly. Work Environment

Physical demands include lifting, carrying, fine motor skills, and exposure to risk. The typical work involves sitting (70%), walking (10%), and standing (20%). Experience and Education

Related experience in a specialized field required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Certificates and Licenses

Appropriate Arizona Speech and Language License; Criminal Background and Fingerprint Clearances; MMR vaccination. Additional
