Position Highlights

The School of Landscape Architecture is in search of a Postdoctoral Research Associate that will lead a citizen science project focused on community perspectives around greenspace, heat, and health, with an emphasis on youth engagement. They will help organize two workshops bringing together design professionals, decision-makers, and community members to evaluate a tool that measures health impacts of greenspace design. Responsibilities also include securing IRB approval, conducting Q-set analysis, and creating outreach materials. The associate will mentor research assistants, ensuring high-quality work and collaboration across the project. Additional research duties will be assigned as needed. . Duties & Responsibilities

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will lead the citizen science project on communities’ perspectives on greenspace, heat, and health. This includes developing a photovoice project (or an alternative approach, if more suitable) to engage youth—and potentially adults—in providing feedback on their experiences in greenspaces, including both health benefits and disservices (e.g., negative impacts such as mosquitoes, ticks, or heat). Additionally, the Postdoctoral Research Associatewill support workshop organization. Two workshops will be held for design professionals, decision-makers, and community members to provide feedback on a tool that assesses the health impacts of various green space designs. Responsibilities will include assisting with related efforts such as obtaining IRB approval, developing an appropriate Q-set analysis, and creating outreach and engagement materials. The Postdoctoral Research Associatewill also collaborate with and mentor research assistants on the team. This includes guiding their work and reviewing tasks such as report writing to ensure quality and accuracy. Other research activities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
