Travel RN Job Details
Location: Thomasville, NC 27360 Assignment Type: Travel/Locum Tenens Registered Nurse Unit: Medical/Surgical and Med/Surg Telemetry Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15) Hours per Week: 36 Contract Duration: 16–20 weeks (Start: 9/2/2025, End: 1/20/2026) Patient Ratio: 1:6–7 Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend Orientation: 12 hours unit orientation plus hospital orientation during week one Scrubs: Navy blue, white, or a combination
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state (must be current by start date) Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience BCLS (Basic Life Support) certification required Epic charting experience required for first-time travel nurses Preferred: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and NIHSS certifications Clinical skills: IV start, non-titratable cardiac drips, telemetry rhythm interpretation Ability to float to similar medical-surgical units as needed Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted) COVID-19 vaccine not required
Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric medical and post-surgical patients Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms, administer IVs, and manage non-titratable cardiac drips Document patient care using Epic EMR and follow hospital protocols (Pyxis, EPIS, SBAR) Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, physical therapy, and rapid response Float to other medical-surgical or telemetry units as required Participate in unit and hospital orientation, and complete required training modules prior to start Adhere to hospital policies regarding scheduling, fatigue, and time off
