Gaston County Public Health is committed to protecting, promoting, and preserving the health and well‑being of all residents.
An hourly salary range of $27.45 to $31.91 is anticipated for this position.
Responsibilities
Clinic duties: Utilize the nursing process to assess, interview, triage, educate, and implement the plan of care. Administer immunizations per CDC guidelines and document vaccine administration in NCIR. Assist with vaccine inventory and storage, support procedures and treatments, review encounter accuracy, model positive teamwork, and provide triage services per standing orders.
Assigned follow‑up: Per Nursing Supervisor or Charge Nurse directives, review lab results, medication ordering, inventory, AED monitoring, immunization refrigerator temperature, literature stocking, missed appointments, positive pregnancy tests, and other tasks.
Triage: Follow up patient calls, assess problems, provide medical advice, schedule appointments, triage walk‑in patients according to protocols and standing orders, and consult providers as indicated.
Education: Participate in annual competence activities, in‑services, trainings, and meetings; serve as a preceptor to new staff; complete required competencies per NC Board of Nursing.
Disaster response: Deliver services in the field during emergencies, staff emergency shelters, administer vaccinations, and provide nursing care to assure community safety.
Carry out performance management roles and responsibilities, identify and communicate improvement opportunities, and adjust practice to achieve established performance goals.
Qualifications
Associate degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing with two years of professional nursing experience; or Bachelor's degree in Nursing with no previous experience required.
Current State of North Carolina RN License.
Valid CPR Certification.
Valid vehicle operator's license.
