Infant Mental Health / Home-Based Clinician
within our Youth and Family Services Team. About The Role
Newaygo County Mental Health is currently seeking a compassionate, skilled Infant Mental Health (IMH) / Home-Based Clinician to join our Youth and Family Services Team. This position provides intensive, family-centered therapeutic services to children from birth to age 17 and their families—specializing in the infant mental health (0–3) population. Services are delivered primarily in family homes and community settings, guided by an individualized plan of service developed collaboratively with the family and support team. The clinician will work with children and families experiencing complex emotional, developmental, or behavioral concerns and will play a vital role in supporting early childhood attachment, healthy relationships, and family functioning. Knowledge of infant development, family dynamics, trauma-informed care, and community-based systems is essential to success in this role. Key Responsibilities
Conduct screenings, assessments, and triage to determine client needs. Provide short-term individual, group, and family counseling in a home-based setting. Teach problem-solving and social skills to help children and families manage challenging behaviors and navigate complex situations. Assist clients in accessing community resources for housing, financial support, medical care, transportation, recreation, and work-related needs. Coordinate services across various agencies (e.g., schools, DHS, courts) to ensure the needs of children and families are met. Offer support and guidance in achieving developmental goals, maintaining stability in the home, and promoting community integration. Qualifications
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology is required. State licensure such as LLP, LLPC, LPC, LLMSW, LMSW, or LMFT. Endorsement in Infant Mental Health (IMH) through MI-AIMH preferred, or willingness to actively pursue endorsement. Valid Michigan driver’s license. Knowledge of child development, parent-child attachment, trauma, and family systems. Strong skills in case management, coaching, training, and providing treatment services. Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Proficiency in computer skills and resourceful problem-solving. Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $58,000 - $75,299, depending on licensure and experience. Loan Repayment & Tuition Reimbursement: Newaygo County Mental Health is an approved NHSC site for loan repayment. We also offer tuition reimbursement and a loan repayment option. Additional Information
