CT/Radiology Technologist - Full-time & PRN
Position Summary:
The Radiology Technologist will operate radiographic equipment to produce radiographs of the body for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the Physician in accordance with the Radiologist accepted protocol. The technologist will also be proficient in patient positioning and examining table setup to obtain optimum views of requested areas. The technologist will practice radiation safety techniques with the ALARA principle in mind, using beam-restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors to maximize radiation protection to patient and staff. The Radiology Technologist will operate CT equipment to produce Computed Tomography (CT) scans for diagnostic purposes, as directed by the Physician in accordance with the Radiologist protocol. The technologist will administer and obtain consent for IV and oral contrast, monitor for adverse reactions, and ensure proper documentation in patients’ charts. Our primary goal is to ensure patient safety and satisfaction while acquiring diagnostically acceptable exams. The Radiology Technologist may perform additional patient care duties, including but not limited to starting IVs, drawing blood, operating lab testing equipment and running patient samples, changing beds, cleaning rooms, and stocking linens.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintains awareness of all departmental and operational policies of Altus Community Healthcare (ACH).
Assists in maintenance of all department equipment, including cleaning and QA procedures.
Explains to patients the benefits and risks of procedures and exams.
Prepares patient as necessary for examination (contrast preparation, proper IV placements, lab checks).
Facilitates departmental operations through completion of all appropriate forms related to contrast, extravasations, pregnancy, and other preformed exam requirements.
Maintains safety precautions to minimize radiation exposure to patients, other personnel, and self.
Maintains current knowledge of Diagnostic Radiology/CT procedures performed in the Radiology Department.
Possesses basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology to apply radiology principles and obtain diagnostic quality images.
Possesses basic knowledge of radiology/CT equipment functioning for minor repair and troubleshooting.
Proficient in the use of all radiological/lab equipment within the facility.
Uses proper body mechanics when moving patients and equipment to prevent injury.
Applies radiology safety principles in performance of duties.
Seeks guidance from appropriate personnel when needed and communicates problems/concerns.
Provides safe transportation of patients to and from the patient care unit.
Performs moderate and waived testing per Clinical Laboratory policies and procedures and interprets results as appropriate.
Maintains correct documentation for compliance purposes and ensures regulatory adherence.
Maintains inventory of supplies and submits restock orders as needed.
Demonstrates professional values and collaborates with team members, physicians, staff, administration, and the Director of Clinical Laboratory.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to safety, emergency preparedness, infection control, OSHA, fire safety and hazardous materials regulations and procedures.

Qualifications :
Education & Experience:
Graduate of an accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology.
At least 2 years of radiologic/imaging experience and CT experience.
Language/Math/Reasoning Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group settings.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret data and graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems.
Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills.
Certificates/Licenses:
Current State Licensure (Required)
Current BCLS Certification (Required)
Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Preferred)
