Overview

Phlebotomist II – Irvine, CA at Quest Diagnostics. Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:00am–4:00pm with rotational Saturday 8:00am–12:30pm. Pay Range: $23.70 – $28.29 per hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, and applicable certifications. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation. This position requires a state phlebotomy license. Quest does not accept NHA licenses in CA, WA, NV. Responsibilities

Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screenings, and insurance exams.

Administer oral solutions according to established training.

Research test/client information and confirm/verify written and electronic orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.

Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.

Identify individuals and accurately enter billing information; collect payments when required, following corporate policies.

Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.

Perform non-patient facing duties such as inventory management, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and email correspondence.

Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.

Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.

Maintain phlebotomy logs (e.g., maintenance logs, temperature logs) in a timely manner.

Complete online and in-person training courses timely.

Qualifications

Required Work Experience: Three years of phlebotomy experience (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections). Keyboard/data entry experience. Flexible availability based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime. Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record if applicable.

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Ability to communicate effectively in English.
