Job Overview GSK is seeking a highly motivated Scientist for the Oligo Platform Biology group to develop in vitro assays for oligonucleotide screening across disease targets and modalities (ASOs, siRNAs, SSOs, RNA editors).
Key Responsibilities
Support oligonucleotide drug discovery through design, optimization, and execution of molecular and cell-based assays.
Culture immortalized/primary cell types, perform transfections, and evaluate genetic perturbations at RNA/protein levels.
Collaborate with team members and cross‑functional stakeholders to drive progress and deliver on research milestones.
Analyze experimental data and present findings to the group and broader research teams.
Maintain a well‑documented electronic laboratory notebook.
Basic Qualifications
MS with ≥3 years or BS with 5+ years in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry or related field.
Experience in mammalian cell culture and high‑throughput transfection (96‑well/384‑well).
Proficiency in molecular biology techniques including protein/nucleic acid extraction, electrophoresis, PCR, RT‑qPCR, and digital PCR.
Experience with protein expression analysis using western blot, ELISA, flow cytometry, and immunofluorescence.
Preferred Qualifications
Industry experience in biotech or pharma.
Hands‑on experience with in‑vitro models of extrahepatic tissues (CNS, kidney, lung).
Familiarity with automated western/ELISA platforms and liquid handlers.
Previous experience in assay development and oligonucleotide therapeutics (ASO, siRNA, SSO, RNA editors).
Strong sense of urgency, flexibility, independence, and accountability.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Integrity and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Salary and Benefits The US annual base salary range is $89,100–$148,500. This position offers an annual bonus, eligibility for share‑based long‑term incentive programs, and comprehensive benefits including health care, retirement, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
