5 Overview
Job Responsibilities: Install wireways supporting cables in submarines. Install cables and electrical components (nuclear and non-nuclear) ranging from large power distribution switchboards to telephones, including control, power, electronics, and weapon systems. Install, tag out, and test ship's lighting. Hook up cables to electrical components in accordance with NAVSEA methods and procedures, such as hardwire and connecterization. Groom electrical components for inspections and provide documentation for each job performed. Skills include vulcanization of ship's cables and installation and maintenance of shipboard temporary services. Learn power and data/signal cable splicing. Benefits
