Position Summary Operate mine equipment safely and efficiently. Maintain compliance with the Huber Sustainability Management Standard and other applicable environmental permits. Possess a strong understanding of mine operations and safety procedures.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Safely drive a 45‑ton haul truck, making approximately 25 trips per day to remove and dump tons of marble/rock.

Possess basic knowledge of the crushing system and be able to start/stop the system.

Ensure mine equipment is in good operating condition, making minor repairs as needed.

Inspect work areas at the start of each shift for safe conditions and advise Maintenance or Mine Supervisor of any maintenance problems.

Proficiently operate other mine equipment such as a skid loader, backhoe, front‑end loader and haul trucks.

Properly record fuel usage for equipment.

Recommend improvements to increase the efficiency of mine operations and assist in problem‑solving.

Clean the crusher area at the end of each shift.

Assist in training new employees; perform other duties as assigned.

Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills

High School diploma or GED equivalent; technical school a plus.

Minimum of 3–5 years of industry experience or mining school equivalent.

Basic computer literacy, including checking e‑mail and completing online safety classes.

Work safely in laboratory and plant practices and respond quickly to safety‑related situations.

Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.

Don a self‑rescuer during an emergency and assist others.

Use hand tools for strenuous manual labor up to 30 minutes without stopping, including climbing ladders and working in low light.

Good mechanical aptitude and basic mathematical skills.

Excellent communication skills and proficiency in radio communication.

Read and comprehend safety manuals, SOPs, SDS, and production schedules/reports.

Physical Requirements

Work throughout underground and surface areas exposed to inclement weather, heat, cold, noise, vibrations, grease, oil, and dusty conditions.

Navigate uneven and rough terrain, including mud, water, and slopes.

Communicate in high‑noise environments via radio and in person.

Operate heavy equipment on uneven terrain in a dark, confined underground mine environment at a safe and efficient speed.

Lifting, climbing, and occasionally working from an elevated platform.

Salary Range Miner III: $25.56 – $28.12 per hour

Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and profit‑sharing payout.
