Overview

This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, and systems following specifications, blueprints, manuals, and drawings, using hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, welding equipment, measuring, and testing equipment: visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment as appropriate, cleans and lubricates machine and parts, performs precision maintenance tasks on various industrial manufacturing processes, and is a key player in continuous improvement efforts through daily use of troubleshooting and predictive, preventative maintenance strategies. Responsibilities

Install, assemble, and maintain machinery and equipment Replace worn or defective parts, and troubleshoot issues Use cranes, forklifts, hoists, and winches to move heavy parts and machinery Read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures Test and inspect machinery to ensure it operates safely and efficiently Use precision tools and techniques to align and calibrate machine components Operate machining equipment, such as lathe and vertical mill Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or apparent Requirements

Skills and Abilities

Must be able to use a variety of hand tools, such as hammers and levels Must be able to use welding, brazing, and cutting equipment Must be able to use measuring tools, such as micrometers, measuring tapes, and lasers Must be able to use industrial mathematics to apply numerical analysis to industry-related tasks Must have the ability to maintain and operate basic tools such as grinders, drill presses Must be able to work at various heights Must have a valid driver\'s license Must be able to travel on an as-needed basis Must demonstrate a commitment to safety procedures and policies Must demonstrate effective communication and organizational skills Must demonstrate excellent attendance Must be able to read, write, and speak English Education And Experience

Must have a HS diploma or GED, plus a minimum of 3 years Millwright work experience Must have proficient knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics Must have demonstrated knowledge and support of predictive/preventative maintenance programs Must demonstrate proficient skills in welding and fitting Basic knowledge of electrical systems is preferred Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

Regular exposure: stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and hear to coordinate and operate equipment; use of safety equipment as dictated by the work; exposure to moving mechanical parts Frequently: lift and/or move up to 60 pounds; work in temperature extremes, wet and/or humid conditions, with dust, fumes, airborne particles; travel to other RTP locations; overnight travel Occasionally: sit; handle weights exceeding 250 pounds; exposure to noise levels above OSHA action level requiring use of hearing protection Other: specific vision abilities may require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus Company Information and Notices
