Overview

We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in a dynamic food processing environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment such as Multivac packing machines, tray sealers, meat shredders, batch ovens, and other processing equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively with production teams. Key Responsibilities

Learn and master set-up, operation, adjustments, and operating parameters of production equipment. Perform routine and emergency maintenance on Multivac packaging systems, tray sealers, meat shredders, ovens, and other food processing equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues to minimize production downtime. Execute comprehensive preventative maintenance (PM) programs for all production equipment. Reconfigure electrical and water drops as needed to enhance efficiency, aesthetics, and safety. Respond promptly to unsafe conditions and implement corrective measures in a timely manner. Perform welding, fabrication, and refrigeration maintenance as required. Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities. Collaborate with machine operators, supervisors, and managers to ensure production efficiency. Support continuous improvement efforts and implement best practices in maintenance procedures. Qualifications Education & Experience

Required: Strong troubleshooting and repair capabilities for electrical and mechanical systems High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 3 years' experience in maintenance, including work with: Single-phase and 3-phase electrical systems PLC programming and troubleshooting Welding and fabrication Forklift and building maintenance Preferred: Experience in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) Previous experience in a USDA/FDA-regulated food processing facility Licenses & Certifications

Strong mechanical, electrical, and technical troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams, and technical manuals. Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly

Word and Excel . Ability to write routine maintenance reports and communicate clearly with production staff and management. Excellent problem-solving and time management skills. Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Work Environment & Physical Demands

Must be able to work in a cold or warm processing environment. Regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift/move up to 50 pounds. May be required to work overtime, weekends, or holidays based on production needs. Seniority level
